A 30 percent tax credit for the purchase of solar water heaters and geothermal heat pumps is also available. There is no limit to the total amount of the credit, e.g., if a geothermal heat pump cost $5,000, a consumer would receive a $1,500 credit.Consumers can claim a $1,500 aggregate tax credit for qualified energy efficient home improvements.



Tax Credits for Home Builders -Heating and Cooling  Systems$1,000 tax credit is available to the producer of a new manufactured home achieving 30% energy savings for heating and cooling.These tax credits apply to new homes located in the United States whose construction is substantially completed after August 8, 2005
